Independent Construction & Building Maintenance Recruiter – UAE (Hybrid/Flexible)

About the Role:

We are seeking an Independent Construction & Building Maintenance Recruiter to source, assess, and place highly skilled professionals within the construction, real estate, and facility management sectors across the UAE. This role requires expertise in construction project management, building maintenance, structural engineering, and facility operations


Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Research & Candidate Sourcing

  • Conduct in-depth market research on construction & building maintenance positions, analyzing hiring trends, salary benchmarks, and employment types (permanent, contract, and temporary).
  • Source highly qualified candidates using job boards, LinkedIn, industry-specific platforms, and professional referrals.
  • Build strong relationships with construction firms, real estate developers, property management companies, and facility maintenance providers to expand the talent pipeline and stay updated on workforce demands.

2. Candidate Screening & Assessment

  • Initial Screening: Review CVs, certifications, work experience, and technical expertise in construction, facility management, and building maintenance.
  • Technical & Management Interviews: Conduct in-depth interviews in collaboration with industry experts and clients to assess candidates’ knowledge in:
    • Construction project management and building codes compliance
    • Structural engineering principles and civil works
    • HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical maintenance
    • Safety regulations and risk assessment in construction sites
    • MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) system installations
    • Facility management and preventive maintenance strategies
    • Procurement and materials management in construction
  • Skills & Certification Verification: Ensure candidates hold relevant industry certifications, such as:
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) for construction project managers
    • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) for facility and maintenance roles
    • NEBOSH / IOSH Certification for safety officers
    • MEP & HVAC Certifications for engineers and technicians
    • Civil Engineering Licenses recognized in the UAE
  • Competency & Compliance Assessment: Evaluate candidates’ knowledge of UAE building codes, environmental safety regulations, and construction quality standards.

3. Client Collaboration

  • Partner with construction companies, real estate developers, facility management firms, and infrastructure projects to understand their specific staffing needs.
  • Provide industry insights on salary benchmarks, in-demand construction skills, and new technologies in building maintenance and infrastructure development.
  • Assist clients in creating job descriptions tailored to construction professionals and maintenance specialists.

4. Interview Coordination & Feedback

  • Schedule and facilitate interviews between candidates and clients, managing all logistics and follow-ups.
  • Gather feedback from both candidates and clients post-interviews, offering constructive advice for improvement and assisting in decision-making.
  • Provide candidates with interview coaching, including insights into construction industry trends, modern maintenance practices, and UAE-specific compliance standards.

5. Talent Database Management

  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date database of construction and building maintenance professionals, including certifications, expertise, and availability.
  • Track candidates' compliance with UAE construction safety laws, maintenance best practices, and regulatory certifications.
  • Regularly update records to reflect new certifications, project experience, and contract availability.

6. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all placements comply with UAE labor laws, construction site regulations, and facility maintenance standards.
  • Verify work permits, licenses, visas, and professional certifications to ensure candidates meet legal and technical requirements.
  • Stay informed about evolving safety standards, sustainability regulations, and real estate laws in the UAE.

7. Onboarding & Post-Placement Support

  • Assist newly placed candidates with the onboarding process, ensuring they understand construction workflows, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Serve as a point of contact for both clients and candidates after placement, addressing any post-placement concerns.
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure employee retention, job satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

8. Continuous Improvement & Industry Insights

  • Stay updated on the latest construction and facility management innovations, including smart buildings, green construction, and sustainable facility maintenance.
  • Recommend improvements to recruitment strategies to enhance efficiency in sourcing and attracting top construction and maintenance talent.
  • Offer insights into emerging technologies such as BIM (Building Information Modeling), IoT in facility management, and energy-efficient building materials.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Facility Management, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or HR certification is a plus.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of recruitment experience within the construction and building maintenance industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with construction project planning, structural engineering, building maintenance, and compliance regulations.
  • Legal & Compliance: Understanding of UAE labor laws, construction site safety regulations, and facility maintenance standards.
  • Recruitment & Client Management: Proven ability to manage multiple recruitment processes while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Independence & Efficiency: Capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision while meeting client expectations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and industry-specific platforms.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic or other relevant languages is a plus.
