Independent HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Recruiter – UAE (Hybrid/Flexible)
About the Role:
We are seeking an Independent HVAC Recruiter to source, assess, and place highly skilled professionals within the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) sector across the UAE. This role requires a deep understanding of HVAC systems, equipment installation, maintenance, energy efficiency, and building regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Research & Candidate Sourcing
- Conduct in-depth market research on the UAE HVAC industry, analyzing hiring trends, salary benchmarks, and employment types (permanent, contract, and project-based).
- Source qualified candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, industry-specific platforms, and referrals.
- Build strong relationships with construction companies, facility management firms, HVAC service providers, and energy efficiency consultants to expand the talent pool and stay updated on staffing needs.
2. Candidate Screening & Assessment
- Initial Screening: Review CVs, certifications, and work experience related to HVAC installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and design.
- Technical & Management Interviews: Conduct interviews in collaboration with industry experts and clients to evaluate candidates’ expertise in:
- HVAC system design and layout (air handling units, chillers, heat exchangers, ventilation systems)
- Energy-efficient systems and green building standards (LEED, Green Star)
- Troubleshooting and system diagnostics
- Compliance with local regulations (UAE Fire & Life Safety Codes, ASHRAE standards)
- Project management in HVAC installations and maintenance
- Building automation systems (BMS, HVAC controls, smart building systems)
- Skills & Certification Verification: Ensure candidates hold relevant industry certifications such as:
- NEBOSH for safety compliance
- ASHRAE, AEE certifications for energy efficiency and system design
- HVAC-R certifications (e.g., EPA 608, F-Gas)
- PMP (Project Management Professional) for HVAC project management roles
- Competency & Compliance Assessment: Evaluate candidates’ knowledge of building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards for HVAC systems in commercial and residential buildings.
3. Client Collaboration
- Partner with construction firms, real estate developers, HVAC contractors, and facility management companies to understand their staffing needs.
- Provide industry insights on salary expectations, in-demand skills, and trends in HVAC technologies such as smart HVAC systems, energy-efficient installations, and HVAC automation.
- Assist clients in developing tailored job descriptions for HVAC engineers, technicians, project managers, and sales personnel.
4. Interview Coordination & Feedback
- Schedule and facilitate interviews between candidates and clients, managing logistics and follow-ups.
- Gather feedback from both candidates and clients after interviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Offer interview coaching to candidates, sharing insights on HVAC technologies, project management skills, and energy efficiency practices.
5. Talent Database Management
- Maintain an up-to-date database of HVAC engineers, technicians, and specialists, tracking certifications, qualifications, and experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and energy efficiency.
- Regularly update candidate profiles to reflect new certifications, project experience, and availability for temporary or permanent roles.
- Ensure that the database includes candidates’ experience with UAE-specific regulations (e.g., UAE Fire & Life Safety Codes, local government HVAC standards).
6. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure that all placements comply with UAE labor laws, health and safety regulations, and HVAC-specific industry standards.
- Verify work permits, visa status, and professional certifications to ensure that candidates meet legal and technical requirements.
- Stay informed about evolving regulations related to energy efficiency, building codes, and environmental sustainability in the UAE HVAC sector.
7. Onboarding & Post-Placement Support
- Assist newly placed candidates in onboarding, ensuring they understand HVAC systems, maintenance procedures, and company policies.
- Act as a point of contact for both clients and candidates after placement to address any concerns or queries.
- Provide ongoing support to ensure job satisfaction, employee retention, and workplace safety for HVAC professionals.
8. Continuous Industry Insights & Improvement
- Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies, including smart HVAC systems, automation in building systems, and sustainable HVAC practices.
- Recommend improvements to recruitment strategies to enhance efficiency in sourcing and attracting HVAC talent.
- Provide clients with insights on emerging trends in green building certifications (e.g., LEED) and HVAC energy optimization.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or HR certification is a plus.
- Experience: 2-5 years of recruitment experience in the HVAC, construction, or building services sectors.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with HVAC system design, installation, maintenance, and energy efficiency in both residential and commercial buildings.
- Legal & Compliance: Understanding of UAE labor laws, building codes, and environmental regulations specific to the HVAC sector.
- Recruitment & Client Management: Proven ability to handle multiple recruitment processes and maintain strong relationships with HVAC contractors and employers.
- Independence & Efficiency: Ability to work autonomously while delivering high-quality recruitment services.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and industry-specific recruitment platforms.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic or other languages relevant to the region is a plus.
