Independent Power Generation & Energy Sector Recruiter – UAE (Hybrid/Flexible)

About the Role:

We are seeking an Independent Power Generation & Energy Sector Recruiter to source, assess, and place highly skilled professionals within the power generation and energy sectors across the UAE. This role requires expertise in power plant operations, renewable energy systems, energy efficiency, energy storage solutions, and sustainability practices


Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Research & Candidate Sourcing

  • Conduct detailed market research on the power generation and energy industry in the UAE, analyzing hiring trends, salary benchmarks, and employment types (permanent, contract, and temporary).
  • Source qualified candidates using job boards, LinkedIn, industry-specific platforms, and professional referrals.
  • Build strong relationships with power generation companiesenergy consulting firmsrenewable energy organizations, and energy utilities to expand the talent pipeline and stay updated on staffing needs.

2. Candidate Screening & Assessment

  • Initial Screening: Review CVscertifications, and work experience related to power generation technologiesenergy systemsrenewable energyenergy storage, and sustainability.
  • Technical & Management Interviews: Conduct in-depth interviews in collaboration with industry experts and clients to assess candidates' knowledge in:
    • Power generation technologies (thermal, nuclear, hydropower, and gas turbines)
    • Renewable energy systems (solar, wind, biomass, geothermal)
    • Energy storage technologies (battery storage, pumped hydro storage, compressed air energy storage)
    • Energy efficiency and smart grid technologies
    • Project management in energy sector projects (scheduling, cost management, risk management)
  • Skills & Certification Verification: Ensure candidates hold relevant industry certifications such as:
    • Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) for energy projects
    • Certified Renewable Energy Professional (REP) for renewable energy roles
    • HVAC certifications for energy systems related to power plants
    • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) for technical roles
  • Competency & Compliance Assessment: Evaluate candidates' knowledge of energy lawsregulations, and UAE-specific energy compliance standards (e.g., DEWA regulationsUAE National Energy Strategy 2050).

3. Client Collaboration

  • Partner with power generation companiesenergy firmsconsultancies, and renewable energy developers to understand their staffing needs.
  • Provide industry insights on wage expectationsemerging technologies in the power and energy sectors, and policy shifts affecting the industry.
  • Assist clients in creating tailored job descriptions for roles in power generationrenewable energyenergy storage, and smart grid technologies.

4. Interview Coordination & Feedback

  • Schedule and facilitate interviews between candidates and clients, managing all logistics, feedback collection, and follow-ups.
  • Gather feedback from both candidates and clients post-interviews, offering constructive feedback and facilitating candidate selection.
  • Provide interview coaching to candidates on power generation systemsenergy efficiency, and renewable energy innovations.

5. Talent Database Management

  • Maintain a comprehensive database of energy and power generation professionals, including qualificationscertificationsskills, and availability.
  • Regularly update candidate profiles with new certificationsproject experience, and availability for contract or full-time roles.
  • Ensure the database reflects compliance with UAE energy regulationssafety standards, and industry best practices.

6. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all placements comply with UAE labor lawssafety regulations, and energy sector regulations.
  • Verify work permitsvisa status, and professional certifications to ensure candidates meet all legal and technical requirements for energy sector roles.
  • Stay informed about evolving UAE energy regulationsrenewable energy laws, and sustainability standards.

7. Onboarding & Post-Placement Support

  • Assist newly placed candidates with the onboarding process, ensuring they understand energy systemsproject workflowssafety protocols, and client-specific energy practices.
  • Act as a point of contact for both clients and candidates to address any post-placement concerns.
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure job satisfactionemployee retention, and operational efficiency in power generation and energy projects.

8. Continuous Industry Insights & Improvement

  • Stay updated on the latest power generation and energy sector trends, such as renewable energy technologiessmart grid developmentenergy storage advancements, and sustainability practices.
  • Recommend improvements to recruitment strategies based on the evolving needs of the power generation and energy sectors.
  • Offer clients insights on emerging technologiesenergy storage solutionscarbon capture, and energy-efficient power generation systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Energy EngineeringElectrical EngineeringMechanical Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or HR certification is a plus.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of recruitment experience in the power generation or energy sector.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with power generation technologiesrenewable energy systemsenergy storage solutionsenergy efficiency, and UAE energy regulations.
  • Legal & Compliance: Understanding of UAE labor lawssafety regulations, and energy sector compliance standards.
  • Recruitment & Client Management: Proven ability to manage multiple recruitment processes while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Independence & Efficiency: Capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision while meeting client expectations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)LinkedIn Recruiter, and industry-specific recruitment tools.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic or other relevant languages is a plus.
