Job Description

Independent Oil and Gas Industry Recruiter  – UAE (Hybrid/Flexible)

About the Role:

We are seeking an Independent  Oil and Gas Industry Recruiter to source, assess, and place highly skilled professionals within the oil and gas industry roles across the UAE. This position requires an individual with a deep understanding of the oil and gas related job positions, including roles like drilling engineers, field technicians, safety specialists, and geotechnical experts and etc.  

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Research & Candidate Sourcing

  • Conduct in-depth market research for positions within the oil and gas industry, analyzing trends, salary benchmarks, and employment types (permanent, temporary, and outsourced) for roles in drilling, well services, production operations, and geological services.
  • Source highly qualified candidates using job boards, industry-specific networking platforms, LinkedIn, and professional referrals.
  • Build strong relationships with oil and gas industry providers, contractors, and technical experts to expand the talent pipeline and stay updated on industry workforce demands.

2. Candidate Screening & Assessment

  • Initial Screening: Review CVs, certifications, and work experience to shortlist candidates based on client requirements.
  • Technical & Management Evaluation: Conduct interviews in collaboration with clients and industry experts to assess expertise in drilling operations, field equipment, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Skills & Certification Verification: Ensure candidates possess necessary industry certifications (e.g., H2S, First Aid, Well Control, offshore safety).
  • Competency & Compliance Assessment: Evaluate candidates’ knowledge of oil field safety protocols, environmental standards, and operational efficiency to ensure alignment with UAE labor laws and industry expectations.

3. Client Collaboration

  • Partner with oil and gas companies, service providers, and contractors to understand their specific staffing needs, including roles such as field engineers, rig supervisors, maintenance technicians, and safety officers.
  • Provide industry insights on wage benchmarksskills in demand, and emerging technologies in the oil and gas sector.
  • Assist clients in creating detailed job descriptions to attract qualified candidates for challenging and remote oil field positions.

4. Interview Coordination & Feedback

  • Schedule and facilitate interviews between candidates and clients, managing all logistics and follow-ups.
  • Gather feedback from both candidates and clients post-interviews, offering constructive advice for improvement and assisting in decision-making.
  • Provide candidates with interview coaching, including insights into oil field operations and technical preparation.

5. Talent Database Management

  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date database of oil field service professionals, including work history, technical expertise, certifications, and availability.
  • Track candidates' compliance with industry regulations, ensuring they meet necessary qualifications for field-based work.
  • Regularly update records to reflect candidate status, including contract renewals, new certifications, and shift availability.

6. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all placements comply with UAE labor laws and health and safety standards for oil field workers.
  • Verify work permits, visas, and technical certifications to ensure candidates meet legal and technical requirements for field work.
  • Keep up-to-date with any changes in oil and gas regulationsenvironmental laws, and safety standards in the UAE.

7. Onboarding & Post-Placement Support

  • Support the onboarding process for newly placed candidates, ensuring they understand their roles, safety protocols, and client expectations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for both clients and candidates after placement, addressing any post-placement concerns.
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure employee retention, safety compliance, and satisfaction on both sides.

8. Continuous Improvement & Industry Insights

  • Stay updated on the latest oil field technologies, equipment innovations, and safety protocols to enhance recruitment strategies.
  • Recommend improvements to recruitment processes for better efficiency in sourcing high-demand talent.

Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering; MBA is a plus.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of recruitment experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with oil field operations, drilling services, well servicing, production processes, and safety standards.
  • Legal & Compliance: Solid understanding of UAE labor law, including temporary hiring and outsourced manpower regulations.
  • Recruitment & Client Management: Proven ability to manage multiple recruitment processes while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring long-term business partnerships.
  • Independence & Efficiency: Capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision while meeting client expectations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and professional networking platforms.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; Arabic or other relevant languages are a plus.
