Business Development Executive – Metrology Flow Meters

Overview of the Role

The Junior Metrology Flow Meter Business Development Executive (Flow Metrology) will assist in expanding business opportunities related to Flow Metrology solutions within the utilities, energy, and industrial sectors. This role involves conducting market research, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting sales and marketing activities for Flow Metrology services. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience in both business development and the technical aspects of Flow Metrology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Development Support: Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in Flow Metrology services within the water, gas, electricity, and energy sectors.
• Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth research to analyze emerging trends, customer needs, and competitor activities within the Flow Metrology and instrumentation service industries.
• Proposal & Presentation Support: Help prepare technical proposals, service presentations, and business cases for potential clients.
• Sales & Lead Generation: Support the sales team in lead generation, follow-ups, and maintaining engagement with new and existing clients.
• Client Relationship Management: Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their service needs are met and fostering long-term partnerships.
• Support in Project Proposals: Work alongside senior business development staff in preparing responses to tenders, RFPs (Requests for Proposals), and other business opportunities.
• Service Knowledge: Develop expertise in Flow Metrology services and contribute to the promotion and development of relevant service offerings.
• Administrative Assistance: Provide logistical and administrative support to the business development team, including tracking opportunities, preparing reports, and managing CRM records.

• Flow Metrology Services & Instrumentation Technology: Develop an understanding of the technical aspects of Flow Metrology services and solutions to effectively communicate their benefits to clients.
• Market Trends & Customer Insights: Stay up to date with industry trends in Flow Metrology, including advancements in smart metering technologies, IoT integration, and regulatory changes within the utilities and energy sectors.
• Lead Generation & Sales Support: Assist in identifying new business opportunities and supporting the sales cycle by managing essential documentation, client communication, and proposal coordination.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical discussions, presentations, and client interactions related to Flow Metrology services.
• Research & Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and gather insights to support business development strategies.
  Basic Knowledge of Flow Metrology & Instrumentation Services: Foundational understanding of Flow Metrology services, instrumentation technology, and their applications in utilities (oil & gas, water, electricity) is highly advantageous.
• Sales & Client Management: Ability to assist in the sales process, from lead generation to proposal support and client relationship management.
• Team Collaboration: Strong ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including senior business development managers, engineers, and clients.
• Technical Proficiency: Competence in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM software, and a willingness to learn industry-specific tools.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Relevant coursework or exposure to Flow Metrology services, metering systems, or instrumentation technology is a plus.

Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within the Flow Metrology, instrumentation, or energy sectors.
• Basic familiarity with Flow Metrology services and instrumentation systems (such as smart metering, flow measurement, and pressure monitoring) is an advantage.
• Understanding of flow measurements based on key quantities such as mass, length, density, and time is beneficial.
