Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Instrumentation & Metrology Engineer to join our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the calibration, verification, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical management of instrumentation and measurement systems used across Oil & Gas, petrochemical, power, water, and industrial facilities.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of process instrumentation, calibration systems, measurement standards, metrology practices, and instrumentation maintenance, with a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration, verification, testing, inspection, and maintenance of industrial instrumentation and measurement equipment.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot pressure, temperature, level, flow, analytical, electrical, and dimensional instruments.
  • Conduct calibration of pressure gauges, transmitters, temperature sensors, RTDs, thermocouples, flow meters, level instruments, control valves, switches, and other process instruments.
  • Perform calibration and verification using equipment such as multifunction calibrators, pressure calibrators, deadweight testers, temperature calibrators, loop calibrators, and reference standards.
  • Support calibration and verification of flow measurement and metering systems, including ultrasonic, electromagnetic, turbine, vortex, Coriolis, and differential-pressure flow meters.
  • Carry out 4–20 mA loop checks, signal verification, instrument testing, functional checks, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain calibration records, certificates, test reports, equipment history, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure calibration activities are traceable to recognized national/international measurement standards.
  • Apply metrology principles including measurement uncertainty, accuracy, repeatability, traceability, tolerance, and calibration intervals.
  • Ensure calibration activities comply with relevant standards and quality procedures, including ISO/IEC 17025, where applicable.
  • Review calibration results and identify instruments that are out of tolerance or require corrective action.
  • Prepare calibration procedures, test methods, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, operations, engineering, QA/QC, and project teams to resolve instrumentation and measurement-related issues.
  • Assist in the commissioning, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems.
  • Support FAT, SAT, loop checking, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and shutdown/turnaround activities when required.
  • Inspect and verify calibration equipment and reference standards before use.
  • Maintain calibration laboratory/workshop equipment and ensure proper handling and storage of measurement standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to calibration, metrology, quality, and technical compliance.
  • Follow all HSE policies, permit-to-work requirements, site procedures, and industry safety standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to instrumentation technicians and junior engineers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, Metrology, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Relevant experience in instrumentation, calibration, metrology, testing, or measurement systems.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, power generation, water treatment, or other process industries is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial process instrumentation and measurement principles.
  • Good understanding of calibration procedures, traceability, measurement uncertainty, and quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and relevant international standards is highly desirable.
  • Experience with calibration management systems and technical documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Good knowledge of instrumentation communication protocols such as HART, Modbus, Profibus, and Foundation Fieldbus is an advantage.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
