Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Control Technician (Construction) to support the installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems for Oil & Gas construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with field instruments, cable installation, tubing, impulse lines, and control systems while ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with project specifications and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test instrumentation and control cables.
  • Install field instruments including pressure, temperature, level, flow transmitters, switches, gauges, and analyzers.
  • Install and support control valves, on/off valves, actuators, and solenoid valves.
  • Fabricate and install instrument tubing, impulse lines, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform instrument hook-up activities according to P&IDs, hook-up drawings, and isometric drawings.
  • Install cable trays, conduits, junction boxes, marshalling panels, and local control panels.
  • Carry out cable glanding, termination, continuity testing, insulation resistance (IR) testing, and loop checking.
  • Assist in calibration, functional testing, and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Support DCS, PLC, ESD, and Fire & Gas system field installations.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and construction drawings.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other construction disciplines to complete work as per schedule.
  • Maintain proper documentation of installation and testing activities.
  • Follow HSE procedures, permit-to-work systems, and company safety policies at all times.
  • Report installation issues and recommend corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or ITI in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or a related technical discipline.
  •  2 or more years of experience in Oil & Gas construction projects.
  • Experience in EPC, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, offshore, or gas processing facilities is preferred.
  • Good understanding of instrument installation standards and construction practices.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, ISA, and project specifications.

Required Technical Skills

  • Installation of field instruments and control systems.
  • Instrument cable laying, glanding, and termination.
  • Instrument tubing and impulse line installation.
  • Loop checking and commissioning support.
  • Calibration using HART Communicator and multifunction calibrators.
  • Testing using multimeters, insulation testers (Megger), and loop calibrators.
  • Experience with:
    • Pressure, Temperature, Flow, and Level Instruments
    • Control Valves and Positioners
    • Junction Boxes (JBs)
    • DCS, PLC, ESD, and Fire & Gas Systems
    • 4–20 mA, HART, Foundation Fieldbus (preferred)
  • Knowledge of cable tray and conduit installation.
