Valve Technician - Senior

Overview of the Role

Servtech Technical Services LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Valve Technician to join our dynamic team in the AE region. As a key member of our maintenance and industrial services division, the Senior Valve Technician will be responsible for performing complex mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhauling of various types of valves and mechanical equipment within the Oil & Gas sector. This role demands a proactive approach to maintenance activities, ensuring that all operations adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in both workshop and field environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, overhaul, and maintain a wide range of mechanical systems, with a primary focus on industrial and safety valves such as gate, globe, ball, and control valves, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery, rotating equipment, and associated mechanical components to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Conduct disassembly, detailed inspection, reassembly, and rigorous testing of valves and mechanical parts to verify integrity and compliance with operational standards.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures to accurately execute repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in strict accordance with safety standards, company procedures, and environmental regulations to promote a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with the maintenance team during scheduled shutdowns, turnaround projects, and emergency repairs to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Prepare comprehensive maintenance reports, document technical activities, and support the development of technical documentation for future reference.
  • Follow and promote adherence to QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) guidelines, actively participating in safety meetings and hazard assessments.

Requirements

  • Diploma or ITI certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, demonstrating foundational mechanical knowledge.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Oil & Gas or industrial maintenance, with a focus on valve maintenance and mechanical repairs, either in workshop or field settings.
  • Proven expertise in valve maintenance, including disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with various tools, measuring instruments, and alignment techniques essential for precise mechanical work.
  • Solid understanding of safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and risk mitigation strategies relevant to industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to operate effectively in both workshop and on-site environments, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset to coordinate with colleagues and clients effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work experience within the GCC region, particularly in the UAE, with familiarity with local safety standards and operational practices.
  • Experience participating in shutdowns, turnaround projects, and site-specific maintenance activities.
  • Possession of a valid UAE driving license, which is considered an advantage for site mobility.
