Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Infrastructure Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization’s IT infrastructure. The role involves managing hardware systems, networks, and cloud platforms to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of resolving both day-to-day issues and contributing to long-term infrastructure strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the installation, configuration, and monitoring of servers, storage systems, and network equipment.

• Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and ensure high availability of hosted environments.

• Collaborate with IT teams to implement cloud solutions (Azure, AWS, or GCP) based on business needs.

• Perform system upgrades, patch management, and routine maintenance tasks.

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues.

• Ensure proper documentation of system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.

• Apply best practices in infrastructure security, data backup, and disaster recovery planning.

• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for infrastructure-related support.

• Participate in planning and executing IT projects with minimal supervision.
  
  

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in Windows and/or Linux server environments.

• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).

• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

• Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation tasks.

• Ability to manage IT infrastructure monitoring tools.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Good communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.

 Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• 1–5 years of experience in infrastructure support or systems administration.

• Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Network+, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA).

• Experience working in ITIL-governed environments or knowledge of ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy) is beneficial.

• Exposure to hybrid infrastructure environments (on-prem + cloud) preferred.

• Previous experience supporting infrastructure in medium to large-scale organizations is advantageous.
