Job Role 

Engaged on a per-job or project basis to install, configure, and maintain smart home systems and devices. The Smart Home Technician will be responsible for integrating home automation technologies, including lighting, security, climate control, entertainment, and other connected devices, ensuring that systems are operating optimally and meeting client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Smart Home Installation & Setup:

  • Install and configure various smart home systems, including smart lighting, climate control (smart thermostats), security systems (cameras, sensors), home entertainment, and voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.).

  • Integrate devices and ensure all components are connected and synchronized, ensuring seamless automation and operation.

  • Troubleshoot installation issues and configure devices to optimize performance.

• System Integration & Configuration:

  • Integrate multiple smart devices and ensure compatibility with home networks and third-party applications.

  • Set up automated routines and scenes (e.g., "Good Morning," "Good Night") that allow multiple devices to operate together.

  • Configure smart home security systems, including cameras, doorbell cameras, and motion detectors, for remote monitoring via mobile apps.

• Smart Home Maintenance & Support:

  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance services for smart home systems, ensuring all devices remain operational and updated.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to connectivity, device malfunctions, and software updates.

  • Upgrade and add new devices to existing systems as requested by clients.

• Customer Communication & Education:

  • Guide clients on how to use their smart home systems, providing demonstrations and instructions on device functionality.

  • Offer recommendations to clients for further smart home improvements or system optimizations based on their needs and usage patterns.

  • Address any questions or concerns regarding the setup, operation, or maintenance of smart devices.

• Documentation & Reporting:

  • Keep accurate records of installations, configurations, and system updates in CRM.

  • Document any issues or repairs carried out, including parts used and time spent.

  • Provide customers with service reports, maintenance schedules, and future upgrade recommendations.

• HSE & Compliance:

  • Ensure that all installations comply with local electrical codes, building regulations, and safety standards.

  • Use appropriate safety procedures and tools when working with electrical wiring, smart devices, and home networks.

Minimum Requirements

• 3–5 years hands-on experience with smart home installations, home automation systems, or related fields (UAE/GCC preferred).

• Proficient in installing and configuring a variety of smart home systems, including lighting, climate control, security, and entertainment devices.

• Strong knowledge of home networking, Wi-Fi setup, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.

• Familiarity with popular smart home platforms such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit, and SmartThings.

• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with smart devices and networks.

• Basic English for communication and documentation (Arabic/Hindi/Urdu a plus).

• Smartphone for CRM, navigation, and photo documentation.

• Valid UAE driving license preferred; willingness to travel between sites.

Education & Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Certification or training in Smart Home Technology, Home Automation, Networking, or related field (preferred).

• First Aid and HSE certifications are advantageous.
