Job Title: Network Engineer / IT Infrastructure Specialist

Overview of the Role

Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Network Engineer with a solid foundation in Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Network Security. The ideal candidate will have CCNA-level knowledge (or equivalent), practical experience in physical server installation and management, and a passion for maintaining robust and secure IT infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot LAN and WAN network setups to ensure seamless connectivity and performance.

• Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls, in line with CCNA-level knowledge.

• Set up, manage, and optimize physical servers, including installation, configuration, and regular maintenance.

• Monitor and enhance network performance using diagnostic tools to detect and resolve issues.

• Ensure the security of the network and physical servers by implementing firewalls, VPNs, access control measures, and other security protocols.

• Perform network and server updates, including firmware upgrades and security patch management.

• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support infrastructure projects and organizational goals.

• Document network configurations, server setups, and maintenance activities for internal records and compliance.

• Stay updated with the latest technologies in networking, server management, and cybersecurity trends.

Qualifications:

• Solid knowledge of LAN, WAN, and TCP/IP networking protocols.

• Hands-on experience with physical server setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Strong understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

• CCNA certification (or in progress) or equivalent knowledge in networking fundamentals.

• Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent).

• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.

• Ability to use network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud networking solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

• Knowledge of structured cabling systems and physical network setup.

• Familiarity with VoIP systems and wireless network technologies.

• Basic scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash) to streamline network and server tasks.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Certifications:

• CCNA (required or in progress).

• Additional certifications such as CCNP, CompTIA Server+, or Network+ are a plus.
