Develop and implement training plans, including onboarding, cross-training, and welder certification programs.
Mentor junior and mid-level supervisors to build bench strength and consistency across teams.
Ensure all welding activities meet applicable codes (ASME Section IX, Section VIII, AWS D1.1) and project specifications.
Approve and review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), PQRs, and welder qualifications.
Resolve complex fabrication issues including distortion, joint design, or dissimilar metal welding.
Coordinate with engineers and QA/QC teams during design reviews and fabrication planning.
Own responsibility for welding quality, inspection readiness, and defect resolution.
Lead pre-weld meetings and post-weld inspections; interface with third-party inspectors as needed.
Track and maintain documentation for weld logs, traceability, and compliance audits.
