The Mid-Level Welder performs skilled welding tasks on water treatment equipment and infrastructure, using TIG, MIG, and Stick welding processes. This role involves independent welding work, interpreting welding procedures and blueprints, and ensuring high-quality welds that meet AWS, ASME, and plant standards. The mid-level welder also supports junior welders and participates in quality and safety initiatives.
Execute TIG, MIG, and Stick welding on piping, tanks, skids, and other fabricated components in water treatment systems.
Read and interpret welding procedures, blueprints, and weld maps to perform precise welds.
Perform fit-up, tack welding, and final welding ensuring dimensional accuracy and weld integrity.
Conduct self-inspections and assist in NDT preparation to ensure weld quality.
Identify and report welding defects; perform necessary repairs or rework as directed.
Maintain detailed welding documentation and comply with AWS and ASME codes.
Strictly follow safety protocols including PPE use, confined space procedures, and hazard reporting.
Participate actively in safety meetings and continuous improvement programs.
Mentor and assist junior welders to develop their welding skills.
Collaborate with fabrication, quality, and maintenance teams to meet project goals.
Attend training to stay current on welding techniques, codes, and safety regulations.

Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Welding technology diploma or apprenticeship preferred
Certifications:
AWS Certified Welder (TIG, MIG, and/or SMAW) required
OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety training preferred
Experience:
3–5 years of welding experience in fabrication or industrial maintenance, preferably in water treatment or similar sectors
Skills:
Proficient in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding techniques on stainless and carbon steel
Ability to read welding symbols, blueprints, and follow detailed welding procedures
Strong quality focus and problem-solving abilities
Good communication and mentoring skills
