The Junior Welding Engineer supports welding engineering activities for water treatment system fabrication and maintenance. This role involves assisting with welding procedure development, quality assurance, inspection support, and ensuring compliance with AWS standards and relevant codes. The position is ideal for a certified welder or welding engineer starting their career in industrial water treatment fabrication.
Assist in developing, qualifying, and maintaining welding procedures (WPS, PQR, WPQR) for water treatment equipment fabrication.
Support welding procedure testing and documentation according to AWS and project specifications.
Collaborate with QA/QC inspectors to monitor welding quality and compliance during fabrication and repair activities.
Help review welding inspection reports, NDT results, and maintain accurate welding records.
Participate in root cause analysis of welding defects and assist in corrective action implementation.
Provide support in selecting welding consumables and equipment appropriate for water treatment materials and applications.
Assist in maintaining welding standards and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Support training sessions on welding techniques and safety protocols for fabrication crews.
Work under the supervision of senior welding engineers to enhance knowledge of welding metallurgy, codes (AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX), and water treatment systems.
Stay current with advancements in welding technologies and industry best practices.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
Alternatively, technical diploma with relevant welding certifications
Certifications:
AWS Certified Welder or AWS Certified Welding Engineer (preferred or in progress)
Basic safety certifications (OSHA, confined space, LOTO) preferred
Experience:
0–2 years of welding engineering or welding technician experience, preferably in industrial or water treatment fabrication environments
Skills:
Basic understanding of welding processes (SMAW, TIG, MIG, FCAW) and metallurgy
Ability to read welding procedures, blueprints, and technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and grow within the welding engineering discipline
