Job Title:  Warehouse Equipment Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Warehouse Equipment Maintenance Technician to lead our maintenance operations for warehouse machinery and equipment. In this role, you will manage complex maintenance tasks, troubleshoot and repair advanced equipment issues, and provide technical leadership to a team of maintenance technicians. Your expertise will ensure that our warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and extending the lifespan of critical assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Supervise, mentor, and train maintenance technicians, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
  • Oversee scheduling and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for all warehouse equipment.
  • Coordinate with warehouse operations and logistics teams to prioritize and manage maintenance projects.

Advanced Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on a wide range of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyor systems, pallet jacks, and automated storage solutions.
  • Develop and implement advanced troubleshooting procedures to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Oversee the repair, calibration, and replacement of components to maintain optimal equipment performance.

Preventive Maintenance & Process Improvement:

  • Design and implement robust preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan and improve reliability.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and implement process improvements for increased efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, ensuring timely service and compliance with manufacturer guidelines.

Safety, Compliance & Documentation:

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies during all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and parts inventories.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and provide training to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure high equipment uptime and reliability through proactive maintenance and rapid problem resolution.
  • Process Optimization: Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline maintenance operations and reduce operational costs.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to maintenance staff, fostering a culture of safety and technical excellence.
  • Safety & Compliance: Champion rigorous safety standards and ensure all maintenance activities adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to coordinate maintenance activities and support business objectives.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in maintaining warehouse equipment or similar industrial machinery.
  • Proven track record in diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, maintenance management software, and standard hand and power tools.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid/CPR) are required.
  • Additional certifications in industrial maintenance or equipment repair are a plus.
