Job Title: Warehouse Equipment Maintenance Technician 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Warehouse Equipment Maintenance Technician – Fresher to join our maintenance team. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals looking to start their career in warehouse equipment maintenance. As a fresher, you will assist in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of various types of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyors, pallet jacks, and other material handling systems. You will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and safely, helping to maintain a smooth and productive warehouse environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

    • Assist senior technicians in performing regular maintenance and minor repairs on warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, and other machinery.
    • Learn to diagnose issues with equipment and participate in troubleshooting and fixing basic mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic faults under supervision.
    • Help with the cleaning and lubrication of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  2. Inspection and Monitoring:

    • Perform routine inspections on warehouse equipment, checking for wear and tear, safety hazards, and general condition.
    • Help document the results of inspections, including any necessary repairs or adjustments to be made.
    • Assist in monitoring equipment performance and assist in identifying issues before they lead to major breakdowns.
  3. Assist in Preventive Maintenance:

    • Assist in performing preventive maintenance (PM) tasks as per the scheduled maintenance plan to ensure equipment is functioning correctly and minimize downtime.
    • Assist with testing equipment after maintenance or repairs to ensure proper functionality.
    • Learn and understand the equipment maintenance schedules and procedures, becoming familiar with the maintenance systems in place.
  4. Safety and Compliance:

    • Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures when working with warehouse equipment, ensuring a safe working environment.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to warehouse safety rules at all times.
    • Participate in safety training sessions and apply safe practices when handling equipment.
  5. Documentation and Record Keeping:

    • Assist in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts used.
    • Learn how to track inventory for spare parts and equipment tools, ensuring that necessary supplies are available for repairs and maintenance work.
  6. Learning and Skill Development:

    • Participate in on-the-job training sessions and learn how to use diagnostic tools and repair techniques for warehouse equipment.
    • Gain hands-on experience with various types of warehouse machinery and learn about their operation, maintenance, and repair processes.
    • Gradually take on more complex maintenance tasks as technical skills develop and experience increases.

    • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out following safety guidelines to promote a safe work environment.
  4. Inspection and Troubleshooting:

    • Learn to identify issues with equipment and assist in troubleshooting, performing minor repairs and adjustments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or coursework in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus but not required.
  2. Experience:

    • 1-2 years prior experience required; this is an entry-level position suitable for recent graduates or individuals looking to start a career in warehouse equipment maintenance.
    • Any internships, hands-on projects, or technical training related to equipment maintenance or mechanical systems are beneficial.
  3. Skills:

    • Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems and an eagerness to learn more.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
    • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
    • Basic knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to adhere to safety protocols.
    • A positive attitude toward learning new skills and tackling new challenges.
  4. Certifications (Preferred):

    • Any relevant certifications in equipment maintenance, safety, or forklift operation are a plus but not required (e.g., OSHA safety training, forklift operator certification).
