We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Engineering – Facilities/HVAC Systems to lead all aspects of engineering design, operations, and technical excellence for HVAC and facility infrastructure. This role is responsible for setting engineering direction, ensuring high-performance building systems, and driving energy-efficient and sustainable solutions across all facilities. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with deep technical expertise and a proven track record of executive leadership in engineering and facilities management.
Define and lead the engineering vision, long-term strategy, and execution plans for HVAC and facility systems.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align engineering initiatives with company objectives, including sustainability, compliance, and cost control.
Oversee the design, specification, and implementation of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and energy systems across new and existing facilities.
Ensure adherence to codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA, LEED, NFPA), internal quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
Review and approve complex engineering calculations, schematics, and project submittals.
Manage a multidisciplinary engineering team, including mechanical, HVAC, electrical, controls, and energy engineers.
Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence through mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
Drive cross-functional collaboration between engineering, maintenance, construction, and operations teams.
Provide technical guidance on preventive maintenance programs, building automation systems (BAS), and energy management systems.
Ensure HVAC assets and infrastructure operate efficiently, reliably, and within defined performance KPIs.
Integrate data-driven approaches for predictive maintenance and operational optimization.
Champion initiatives focused on energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and adoption of renewable energy technologies in HVAC and facilities systems.
Guide retro-commissioning, energy audits, and lifecycle cost analysis projects.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies in smart building systems, IoT, and decarbonization.
Communicate technical performance, capital project updates, and risk assessments to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Manage vendor and contractor relationships for outsourced design, engineering, and facility improvement projects.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or related technical field
MBA or Executive Education is a plus
PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred
LEED AP, CEM, PMP, or similar certifications are advantageous
15+ years of progressive engineering leadership, with at least 5 years in a VP or Director-level role
Extensive background in HVAC systems, facility engineering, and building automation
Proven experience managing large-scale capital projects and multi-site portfolios
Expertise in HVAC design and operations, BAS, energy modeling tools (e.g., TRACE, HAP), and CMMS
Familiarity with Revit, BIM workflows, and digital twin integration
Strong executive presence and ability to engage with C-level stakeholders
High-level project and financial management skills
Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
