Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Vice President – Aerospace Systems and Instrumentation is a senior executive role responsible for the strategic direction, design leadership, and operational oversight of aerospace systems architecture and instrumentation integration across aircraft and spacecraft platforms. This includes managing multidisciplinary teams to develop flight-critical systems, mission instrumentation, sensor technologies, and integrated avionics in compliance with the highest safety, performance, and certification standards.


Key Focus Areas:

  • Systems Architecture Leadership – Define and lead development of complex aerospace systems including control systems, flight instrumentation, and onboard monitoring.

  • Instrumentation Strategy & Delivery – Oversee design, integration, and validation of instrumentation systems such as air data, navigation sensors, structural health monitoring, and telemetry.

  • Cross-Platform Integration – Ensure consistent systems engineering practices across manned, unmanned, and space platforms.

  • Program Execution & Risk Management – Drive program delivery with a focus on cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk mitigation.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Certification – Ensure conformance with FAA, EASA, NASA, and military standards (DO-178C, DO-254, ARINC 429/661, MIL-STD-1553).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic initiatives in aerospace systems design, integration, and certification across all product lines.

  • Direct cross-functional teams responsible for flight control, avionics, environmental, and safety-critical instrumentation.

  • Oversee all phases of systems lifecycle management: concept development, requirements capture, systems modeling, integration, V&V, and certification.

  • Interface with OEMs, suppliers, government agencies, and regulatory authorities on system requirements and performance standards.

  • Evaluate new technologies such as digital twins, predictive maintenance systems, and AI-powered flight monitoring tools.

  • Champion innovation, process excellence, and team development across the global engineering organization.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in aerospace systems development and instrumentation engineering.

  • Proven expertise in systems integration, avionics architectures, and safety-critical development.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols (DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, ARINC standards, MIL-SPECs).

  • Visionary leadership in complex aerospace system development.

  • In-depth technical knowledge of avionics, instrumentation, and aerospace subsystems.

  • Strong program management and strategic planning skills.

  • Executive presence with strong communication and global collaboration capabilities.

  • High proficiency in certification processes, systems assurance, and risk governance.
