Job Title: Valve Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Valve Technician (Fresher Level) to join our engineering team. In this entry-level role, you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of valves used in various industrial applications. You will work under the guidance of senior technicians and engineers to gain practical experience in valve operation, testing, and maintenance. This is a great opportunity for fresh graduates or individuals with little experience to learn and grow within the field of valve maintenance and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Valve Maintenance and Repair:

    • Assist in the maintenance, inspection, and repair of valves in industrial applications, including pipelines, tanks, and pressure systems.
    • Learn to identify and troubleshoot common valve issues such as leaks, wear, and mechanical failures.
    • Support the disassembly and assembly of valves for cleaning, part replacement, and reconditioning.
  2. Testing and Inspection:

    • Help perform routine testing of valves to ensure they meet operational standards, such as pressure testing, leak testing, and flow testing.
    • Assist in evaluating valve performance and ensuring that valves meet customer specifications and industry standards.
    • Document inspection results and assist in identifying areas for improvement or repair.
  3. Installation Assistance:

    • Assist in the installation of new valves, ensuring they are correctly positioned, aligned, and sealed in accordance with system requirements.
    • Support the installation of actuators, sensors, and other valve accessories as required.
    • Learn the proper installation procedures for different types of valves and valve systems.
  4. Valve System Troubleshooting:

    • Work with senior technicians to troubleshoot valve issues and identify potential solutions.
    • Assist in performing preventive maintenance to ensure the long-term functionality and efficiency of valve systems.
    • Help identify root causes of valve malfunctions and assist in implementing corrective measures.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of valve maintenance, repairs, and inspections, ensuring all tasks are documented clearly and in compliance with company standards.
    • Assist in preparing maintenance reports for senior engineers or managers.
    • Ensure all necessary parts, tools, and materials are documented and tracked for future use.
  6. Learning and Skill Development:

    • Participate in on-the-job training and mentorship to learn about valve technologies, maintenance procedures, and industry standards.
    • Continuously improve your knowledge of valves, their components, and their role in different systems.
    • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and advancements in valve technology to contribute to team success.
  7. Key Focus Areas:

    Field Instrumentation: Assist in maintaining and calibrating field devices for accurate process control.

    Troubleshooting: Learn basic fault diagnosis and support the resolution of issues in instrumentation systems.

    Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and participate in training programs to ensure workplace safety.

    Skill Development: Gain technical knowledge and experience in oil and gas field operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • A degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory.
  2. Technical Skills:

    • Basic understanding of valve components, operation, and maintenance procedures.
    • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and valve maintenance equipment is beneficial.
    • Willingness to learn valve testing techniques and industry standards.
  3. Soft Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work methodically and accurately.
    • Good communication skills for collaborating with senior technicians and other team members.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning and improving technical abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve maintenance objectives.
  4. Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):

    • Any basic certifications related to valve maintenance or industrial safety would be a plus.
    • Safety training or certifications (e.g., OSHA) would be an advantage.
