The Senior Valve Sourcing Specialist leads the strategic sourcing of valves and flow-control components, with a focus on global supplier evaluation, total cost of ownership optimization, lead time reliability, and compliance with engineering and quality standards. Operating across capital projects and operational procurement environments, the role drives supplier performance, cost savings, and sourcing innovation in line with business and project goals.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies for valves and related mechanical components (ball, gate, globe, butterfly, check, and control valves).
Own global category responsibility for supplier performance, cost competitiveness, and delivery reliability across multiple business units or regions.
Benchmark global supplier capabilities and drive long-term supplier partnerships and framework agreements.
Lead in-depth technical and commercial assessments of new and existing suppliers based on capabilities, certifications (API 6D, ISO 9001, ASME), lead times, capacity, and ESG performance.
Execute supplier development programs in collaboration with QA/QC, including qualification audits, NCR reduction plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate on dual sourcing, localization, and supplier risk mitigation strategies to support operational continuity.
Drive cost optimization through price benchmarking, should-cost modeling, and negotiation of frame/volume-based pricing.
Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities via design-to-cost, early supplier involvement, or alternative sourcing.
Lead commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, and contract finalization in coordination with legal and category leadership.
Oversee complex RFQs and sourcing packages for project and MRO requirements, ensuring inclusion of technical specifications, datasheets, and delivery terms.
Collaborate with engineering to validate specifications, resolve technical clarifications, and align sourcing decisions with system performance needs.
Ensure all supplier submissions meet technical, commercial, and quality requirements before award.
Track and report on sourcing KPIs: cost savings, on-time delivery, quality performance, and supplier responsiveness.
Utilize ERP and analytics tools (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Power BI) to maintain sourcing dashboards, support data-driven decisions, and forecast supply risks.
Lead supplier quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with clear performance metrics and improvement plans.
Bachelorโs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management (Required)
Masterโs degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, PMP, Six Sigma, API Q1/Q2 awareness) preferred
7+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement of industrial mechanical equipment, with a focus on valves and flow-control systems
Experience working in EPC projects, oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or water sectors is highly preferred
Expert-level understanding of valve types, specifications, and standards: API 6D, API 598, ASME B16.34, NACE MR0175
Solid grasp of manufacturing processes, inspection protocols, ITPs, and QA/QC documentation (FATs, MTCs, welding books)
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP MM, Oracle SCM) and sourcing platforms (Ariba, Jaggaer, etc.)
Ability to work across global supply markets: Asia, Europe, MENA, and Americas
Strategic thinking with strong commercial and technical acumen
