The Senior Valve Receiving Inspector is responsible for leading and supervising the inspection and verification of incoming valves and associated mechanical components to ensure full compliance with international standards (API, ASME), client specifications, and internal quality systems. This role serves as a subject matter expert for valve quality assurance, documentation validation, traceability, and technical compliance at receiving points.
Lead inspection of critical mechanical components, focusing on valves (e.g., API 6D gate, globe, ball, butterfly, control valves) and rotating/static equipment.
Conduct thorough dimensional checks, surface integrity assessment, and pressure class verification.
Ensure conformance to API 6D/598, ASME B16.34/B16.5, and project-specific standards.
Supervise inspection teams, providing guidance on procedures, methods, and acceptance criteria.
Review and approve Material Test Certificates (MTCs), hydrotest reports, heat treatment records, and QA documentation packages.
Ensure complete traceability and accurate stamping of batch numbers, heat numbers, serial tags, and ITP references.
Oversee the management of inspection checklists, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and final inspection status logs.
Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse staff, procurement, and project QA/QC teams to resolve technical issues.
Represent the inspection function in audits, client walkthroughs, and third-party verification activities.
Participate in root cause analysis and quality improvement initiatives for recurring supplier issues.
Maintain inspection records and logs in SAP MM or equivalent ERP/QC systems.
Develop inspection tracking dashboards and reporting mechanisms for management.
Train junior inspectors and ensure consistent adherence to procedures and quality standards.
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or Industrial QA/QC
7+ years of experience in mechanical/valve inspection, preferably in oil & gas, EPC, or heavy industrial environments
Proven expertise in inspection of large valves and mechanical packages in accordance with API/ASME standards

ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor
ASNT Level II (Visual, PT, MT preferred)
Advanced knowledge of valve types, construction, and failure modes
Deep understanding of international quality codes (API, ASME, ISO)
Proficient in using ERP/QC systems for inspection workflow (SAP MM, Oracle SCM)
Strong analytical, communication, and supervisory skills
Ability to handle multiple projects and work in cross-cultural, high-pressure environments
