The Junior Valve Receiving Inspector is responsible for conducting quality inspections of incoming mechanical parts—primarily industrial valves—to ensure compliance with technical specifications, purchase orders, and international standards. The role involves hands-on verification, documentation review, coordination with QA/QC teams, and contributing to the continuous improvement of material inspection processes.
Perform visual, dimensional, and documentation checks of received valves and mechanical items.
Verify items against approved purchase orders, datasheets, and project specifications (e.g., API 6D, ASME B16.5).
Use measuring tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers) to inspect valve dimensions and basic mechanical tolerances.
Tag, label, and segregate inspected materials as accepted or non-conforming.
Review supplier documentation such as Material Test Certificates (MTCs), hydrotest records, and ITPs.
Record inspection results, generate reports, and update ERP or QC systems.
Support the traceability of received parts by maintaining batch/serial number logs.
Collaborate with QA/QC Engineers, warehouse, and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies.
Assist in root cause identification for non-conformances and follow up on corrective actions.
Support third-party or client inspections when required.
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Quality Technology (Required)
1–3 years in mechanical inspection or warehouse quality control, especially for valves or piping components
Experience in oil & gas, EPC, or manufacturing environments preferred
Understanding of industrial valve types (e.g., gate, globe, check, ball valves)
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards: API 6D, ASME B16.34, ISO 9001
Proficient in the use of inspection tools and reading engineering drawings
Knowledge of MTCs, heat numbers, and inspection documentation
Basic SAP/MM or ERP skills (preferred but not mandatory)
Attention to detail, safety awareness, and effective communication skills
