The Valve Receiving Inspector (Fresher) is responsible for assisting in the inspection and verification of incoming valves and mechanical parts at warehouses or project sites. This role ensures that received materials comply with purchase order specifications, technical drawings, and industry standards before acceptance into inventory or site deployment.
Physically check and verify incoming valve shipments (e.g., gate, globe, ball, check valves) for damage, quantity, and type.
Compare received materials against purchase orders, delivery notes, and packing lists.
Assist in basic dimensional checks using calipers, gauges, or templates.
Verify that received items are accompanied by proper documentation (e.g., MTCs, test certificates, inspection reports).
Tag and record accepted/rejected items as per procedures.
Maintain logs and checklists in coordination with the warehouse team and ERP system.
Coordinate with quality engineers to escalate non-conformances or technical issues.
Segregate and label non-conforming materials pending disposition.
Support QA/QC during third-party inspections or client walkthroughs.
Learn the basics of valve construction, standards (API, ASME), and acceptance criteria.
Understand inspection tools, quality documentation, and control procedures.
Participate in internal training sessions on mechanical inspection and warehouse processes.
Diploma or Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related technical field (Required)
0β1 year (internships or project training in QA/QC or mechanical inspection are a plus)
Basic understanding of valve types and mechanical components
Ability to read basic engineering drawings or datasheets
Familiarity with inspection tools (visual gauges, vernier calipers, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Willingness to work in site or warehouse environments
