As a senior engineer, you will mentor and guide junior engineers, ensuring high standards of design, quality, and safety. This is a great opportunity to drive innovation and impact within the valve engineering field.
Key Responsibilities:
Valve Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development of new valves and valve systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the selection of materials and design features that optimize valve functionality and durability under extreme conditions (e.g., high pressure, temperature, and corrosive environments).
- Review and approve valve design specifications, technical documentation, and drawings created by the design team.
Testing and Validation:
- Lead and manage valve testing, including pressure testing, performance testing, and leak testing, ensuring that all valves meet the required performance criteria.
- Analyze test results to verify compliance with industry standards (e.g., ANSI, API, ASME) and customer requirements.
- Provide recommendations for improving valve performance based on test findings, and troubleshoot issues identified during testing.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance Support:
- Provide expert troubleshooting support for valve-related issues, including identifying failures, diagnosing problems, and developing solutions.
- Lead valve maintenance strategies to extend the life of equipment, ensuring valves perform optimally in both new and existing systems.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to optimize valve operation, minimize downtime, and improve overall system performance.
Valve Selection and Specification:
- Work with clients, engineers, and cross-functional teams to determine the appropriate valves for specific applications based on technical requirements and industry standards.
- Provide technical expertise in the selection of valves, actuators, and other related equipment, ensuring they meet customer and operational needs.
- Ensure the proper documentation of valve specifications and performance data for easy reference during system design and operation.
Leadership and Mentorship:
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical leadership, advice, and support for their professional development.
- Review the work of junior engineers and ensure that all designs and maintenance work adhere to industry standards and quality practices.
- Lead by example in implementing best practices for valve engineering, safety, and quality assurance.
Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of valves into larger systems (e.g., pipelines, reactors, turbines).
- Work closely with the project management team to ensure that valve selection, design, and testing meet project timelines and specifications.
- Interface with clients and suppliers to provide technical support, offer product recommendations, and resolve any technical issues during product development or implementation.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Drive continuous improvement in valve design and testing processes, introducing new technologies and methodologies to enhance product quality and performance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest valve technologies, materials, and industry trends, applying this knowledge to improve valve systems and designs.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs, improve reliability, and streamline manufacturing and testing processes.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all designs, tests, and maintenance activities comply with relevant standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., API, ASME, ISO, OSHA).
- Lead safety audits and risk assessments to ensure that valve systems operate safely and efficiently.
- Foster a culture of safety within the team, ensuring that all engineers follow established safety protocols during the design, testing, and maintenance phases.
Key Focus Areas:
Field Instrumentation: Assist in maintaining and calibrating field devices for accurate process control.
Troubleshooting: Learn basic fault diagnosis and support the resolution of issues in instrumentation systems.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and participate in training programs to ensure workplace safety.
Skill Development: Gain technical knowledge and experience in oil and gas field operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
