- Work with senior engineers to perform detailed analyses of valve systems, including material selection, pressure ratings, sizing, and application suitability.
- Create and review valve design documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and product datasheets.
Valve Testing and Validation:
- Assist in the development and execution of test plans to validate valve performance, including pressure testing, flow testing, and leak testing.
- Analyze test data to ensure that valve systems meet design requirements and identify any design or operational issues.
- Provide recommendations for design improvements based on test results and performance evaluations.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to valve performance, including wear, leakage, or operational failures.
- Support valve maintenance activities, ensuring proper function and performance of valves in the field or in testing environments.
- Participate in the development of maintenance schedules and procedures to extend the lifespan and reliability of valve systems.
Valve Selection and Specifications:
- Help select appropriate valves for specific applications based on technical requirements, including pressure, flow rate, temperature, and material compatibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the proper integration of valves into larger systems such as pipelines, reactors, or other process equipment.
- Provide technical support to the sales and project management teams regarding valve specifications and operational details.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to ensure that valve systems are compatible with other components and meet overall system requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of valves into broader systems.
Mentorship and Support:
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on valve design, testing procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Assist in developing training materials and technical resources for less experienced engineers and technicians.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in valve design, testing, and maintenance.
- Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and new materials to improve valve designs and optimize performance.
- Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve the efficiency, durability, and cost-effectiveness of valve systems.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain clear and accurate records of design changes, test results, maintenance activities, and any modifications to valve systems.
- Prepare technical reports, test summaries, and progress updates for senior management, clients, and other stakeholders.
Key Focus Areas:
Field Instrumentation: Assist in maintaining and calibrating field devices for accurate process control.
Troubleshooting: Learn basic fault diagnosis and support the resolution of issues in instrumentation systems.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and participate in training programs to ensure workplace safety.
Skill Development: Gain technical knowledge and experience in oil and gas field operations.
