Job Summary:

The Valve Automation and Control Supervisor (Mid-Level) is responsible for managing the maintenance, calibration, and operation of automated and control valves across plant systems. This role ensures functional integrity of valve assemblies and actuation systems while leading field teams in testing, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks. The supervisor also supports integration with plant automation systems and ensures compliance with operational and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise installation, commissioning, and calibration of control valves, actuators (electric/pneumatic/hydraulic), solenoids, and positioners.

  • Coordinate functional testing, loop checks, and performance validation with control system teams (PLC/DCS integration).

  • Monitor the performance of automated valve systems and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

  • Lead valve inspections during shutdowns, overhauls, and integrity programs; ensure proper tagging, documentation, and system reinstatement.

  • Prepare maintenance reports, calibration records, and performance summaries for plant management.

  • Ensure field teams follow OEM specifications, SOPs, and industry standards (e.g., ISA, API, IEC).

  • Manage spare parts, actuator kits, and diagnostic tool inventory for valve assemblies.

  • Enforce HSE procedures and lockout/tagout practices during valve maintenance or isolation work.

  • Interface with vendors and contractors for servicing specialized valve control systems.

  • Train junior technicians and ensure skill development within the valve maintenance team.


Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical discipline

  • 4–7 years of hands-on experience in valve automation and control systems, including field supervision

  • Strong understanding of actuator technologies (electric, pneumatic, hydraulic), valve diagnostics, and control loop integration

  • Familiarity with industrial automation systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA) and valve communication protocols (e.g., HART, Foundation Fieldbus)

  • Experience in utilities, refineries, power plants, or process industries preferred
