The Vice President of Operations – Facilities Management and Utilities is a strategic executive role responsible for leading the operational performance, infrastructure integrity, and sustainability efforts across all facilities and utility systems within the organization. This role encompasses oversight of multi-site facility operations, critical utilities, energy management, capital projects, and regulatory compliance. The VP will align technical operations with business strategy while fostering a high-performance, safety-oriented culture.
Define and execute the strategic roadmap for all facilities and utility operations.
Direct multi-site facility operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, and energy systems.
Drive enterprise-wide standardization of maintenance programs, asset management, and energy performance.
Lead a cross-functional team of facility managers, engineers, utility specialists, and service personnel.
Promote a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Implement leadership development, skills training, and succession planning.
Manage building systems lifecycle, preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
Oversee utility infrastructure including chilled water, steam, compressed air, and backup power systems.
Lead the design, commissioning, and handover of infrastructure upgrade and capital projects.
Develop and implement energy management strategies and decarbonization goals.
Optimize water usage, waste reduction, and renewable energy integration.
Ensure all operations support ESG and corporate sustainability initiatives.
Ensure full regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, ASHRAE, ISO, NFPA) across all operational sites.
Lead risk management and safety programs, including emergency response planning and audits.
Oversee inspections, permits, and environmental health and safety systems.
Develop and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets for facilities and utilities.
Oversee vendor management, procurement, and contract negotiations.
Present operational performance metrics and strategic reports to the COO and executive team.

Energy efficiency, cost control, and sustainability leadership
Enterprise-wide risk mitigation, compliance, and reliability assurance
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field required
Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations preferred
CFM, FMP, PE, PMP, or equivalent certifications highly preferred
15+ years of experience in facilities or utilities management with 7+ years in a senior leadership or VP-level role
Demonstrated success managing complex operations across multiple industrial or commercial sites
In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, CMMS software, BMS/BAS, SCADA, and energy monitoring systems
Familiarity with LEED, WELL Building, and sustainable design standards
Proven ability to drive cultural transformation, cross-functional collaboration, and team engagement
Strong executive communication, analytical thinking, and crisis management skills
