The Vice President – Engineering Compliance and Reliability is a strategic and technical leader responsible for ensuring that all engineering systems, infrastructure, and operations comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations, while also achieving high levels of operational reliability, safety, and performance. This role oversees compliance to global engineering regulations (e.g., ASME, NFPA, OSHA, FDA, EPA), and drives the development and implementation of asset reliability programs, maintenance strategies, and risk mitigation frameworks across all facilities or operations.
Develop and lead enterprise-wide engineering compliance programs aligned with:
ASME, OSHA, NFPA, API, ISO, FDA (GMP), EPA, and local/state codes.
Ensure all engineering designs, systems, and operations adhere to applicable regulatory requirements and internal engineering standards.
Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation for engineering compliance audits and inspections.
Act as a senior liaison during regulatory agency audits, investigations, or certifications (e.g., OSHA, FDA, EPA).
Lead the development and implementation of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), preventive/predictive maintenance (PM/PdM), and asset performance management (APM) programs.
Oversee failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis (RCA), and CAPA processes for critical equipment failures.
Drive continuous improvement in equipment uptime, mean time between failure (MTBF), and asset lifecycle optimization.
Establish and enforce engineering governance across capital projects, operations, and maintenance activities.
Lead risk assessments and mitigation plans related to mechanical integrity, process safety, and asset performance.
Implement systems to ensure pressure vessels, rotating equipment, electrical systems, and utilities meet mechanical integrity and risk standards.
Design and oversee internal audit systems to ensure ongoing compliance with safety and engineering codes.
Report regularly to executive leadership on compliance metrics, audit outcomes, equipment reliability KPIs, and improvement initiatives.
Integrate compliance and reliability metrics into corporate EHS and operational performance dashboards.
Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, EHS, Quality, and Capital Projects teams to align compliance and reliability goals.
Provide technical leadership in commissioning, validation, and handover of new assets and utilities.
Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers, reliability professionals, and compliance managers across multiple sites or regions.
Build organizational capability in compliance and reliability disciplines through training, mentoring, and succession planning.
Foster a safety-first, risk-aware, and performance-driven culture within the engineering organization.
