The Utilities Supervisor (Mid-Level) is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical utility systems—including steam boilers, compressed air, water treatment, and chilled water systems—within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures utilities operate reliably, efficiently, and safely in support of production, sanitation, and facility needs. The supervisor leads a team of utility technicians, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives continuous improvement in energy and system performance.
Supervise the operation and performance of steam generation, compressed air, water, and HVAC-related utility systems.
Monitor system KPIs, identify inefficiencies, and lead performance improvement initiatives.
Ensure availability of utilities to meet production demand with minimal downtime or interruption.
Coordinate and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance tasks using CMMS systems.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of system failures or performance degradation.
Maintain spare part inventories and ensure critical equipment availability.
Lead, schedule, and train a team of utility operators and technicians.
Conduct routine performance reviews and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
Provide on-call or after-hours support for critical issues.
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, and local environmental regulations.
Maintain and audit operational logs, system inspections, and test results.
Support internal and external audits related to utilities, safety, and environmental compliance.
Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and EHS teams on utilities-related needs and projects.
