We are seeking a proactive and technically competent Mid-Level Utilities Supervisor – HVAC and Refrigeration to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and reliability of HVAC and refrigeration systems that are critical to production and food safety. The role ensures operational continuity, compliance with safety and food standards, and provides leadership to a team of utility technicians.
Supervise the daily operation and maintenance of:
Chillers, air handling units (AHUs), air compressors, and ventilation systems
Refrigeration systems (ammonia/Freon), cold rooms, blast freezers, and storage areas
Related utilities such as chilled water, steam, glycol, and compressed air systems
Ensure equipment operates within defined parameters for temperature, pressure, and airflow.
Execute and monitor preventive maintenance (PM) plans using CMMS.
Support troubleshooting and perform first-level corrective actions for HVAC and refrigeration equipment failures.
Coordinate with external service providers and vendors for major overhauls or technical repairs.
Ensure adherence to GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and internal standards for utility-related systems.
Maintain proper air quality, temperature control, and positive/negative pressure zones in production areas.
Assist in audit preparations and maintain up-to-date documentation related to HVAC and refrigeration utilities.
Lead a team of utility technicians and contractors on shift-based operations.
Allocate work assignments, monitor task completion, and provide on-the-job training.
Ensure timely escalation of technical issues to senior engineering management.
Monitor energy usage and system efficiency across HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Maintain operational logs, temperature records, system checklists, and daily reports.
Recommend system improvements or upgrades for better performance or energy savings.
Enforce safety standards for working in mechanical and refrigeration areas.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety checks, ensuring compliance with LOTO, refrigerant handling, and confined space procedures.
Support emergency response actions for utility-related breakdowns or safety risks.

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related field.
4–7 years of hands-on experience in industrial HVAC and refrigeration utilities, preferably in food, beverage, or pharma sectors.
Familiarity with ammonia/Freon systems, chillers, cooling towers, and AHUs.
Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and environmental control standards.
Certified HVAC Technician (EPA, ASHRAE, or equivalent)
Ammonia Safety Handling Certification
Basic training in energy management or sustainability (optional)
