We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Junior Utilities Supervisor – HVAC and Refrigeration to support the supervision, monitoring, and maintenance of utility systems critical to HVAC and refrigeration operations in a food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in industrial utility systems, a commitment to hygiene and safety, and the ability to work closely with senior staff to ensure compliance and operational continuity.
Assist in the daily operation, inspection, and routine maintenance of:
Chillers and cooling towers
Air handling units (AHUs) and ventilation systems
Refrigeration systems (Freon/ammonia)
Compressed air and water-cooled systems
Support preventive maintenance tasks to ensure maximum equipment reliability and energy efficiency.
Monitor system performance and report anomalies to senior staff promptly.
Ensure that utility systems operate in accordance with food industry hygiene standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO).
Maintain clean and safe mechanical spaces, complying with regulatory and audit requirements.
Assist with documentation for utility-related inspections and audits.
Work alongside HVAC and refrigeration technicians to complete scheduled and emergency repairs.
Assist in coordinating daily tasks for junior maintenance staff or contractors as delegated.
Communicate effectively with production, QA, and maintenance teams regarding operational impacts.
Record maintenance activities, system readings, and service histories using CMMS or manual logs.
Report spare parts needs and participate in inventory checks of critical utility components.
Follow strict safety protocols during all HVAC/refrigeration work, especially when dealing with high-pressure systems and refrigerants.
Respond to utility system alerts and participate in root cause investigations for failures or non-conformances.

2–4 years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or utilities maintenance in an industrial or food facility environment.
Familiarity with HACCP/GMP and cold chain principles.
Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical components of HVAC systems.
Willingness to work in shifts and under temperature-variable environments.
Exposure to ammonia-based refrigeration systems.
Basic knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
Familiarity with CMMS tools for logging and scheduling maintenance.
