The Senior Turnaround/Shutdown Instrumentation Lead is responsible for the end-to-end leadership and coordination of all instrumentation activities during major plant shutdowns or turnarounds. This includes planning, mobilization, execution, testing, quality assurance, and reinstatement of field instruments, ensuring safety, schedule compliance, and adherence to technical standards.
Define the instrumentation work scope for shutdowns, including isolation, removal, calibration, installation, and loop testing.
Participate in TAR planning meetings, job walks, and review of work packs, P&IDs, and instrument index.
Plan resource allocation: manpower, contractors, calibration labs, tools, consumables, and test equipment.
Lead field execution of all instrumentation jobs including valve overhauls, transmitter replacement, junction box wiring, tubing work, and instrument air checks.
Ensure adherence to shutdown schedules and manage critical path activities.
Resolve field issues and ensure smooth integration between maintenance and commissioning teams.
Enforce compliance with site safety standards, PTW, LOTO procedures, and hazardous area classifications (ATEX/IECEx).
Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and field audits to promote a strong safety culture.
Support safety investigations and implement corrective actions.
