Job Title: Turbine Rigger
Job Summary:
The
Senior Turbine Rigger is responsible for leading and overseeing all turbine rigging and installation activities, ensuring that turbines, generators, and associated components are safely and effectively installed, aligned, and commissioned. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership skills, and extensive experience in turbine rigging, mechanical systems, and project management. The Senior Turbine Rigger will supervise a team of riggers, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and ensure that all rigging operations meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead a team of riggers and technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of turbine systems, ensuring that all team members adhere to safety and quality standards.
- Supervise daily rigging operations, assigning tasks, and ensuring the work is completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
- Provide mentoring and training to junior riggers, helping to develop their skills and knowledge of turbine rigging and safety procedures.
- Foster a collaborative team environment and ensure effective communication within the rigging team and with other departments (e.g., engineering, maintenance, and project management).

Turbine Installation and Rigging Oversight:
- Oversee the rigging and installation of turbines, motors, generators, and associated components, ensuring that all equipment is properly positioned, aligned, and secured.
- Ensure that turbines are installed according to project specifications, design requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Review and approve lifting plans, rigging diagrams, and safety assessments, ensuring that all turbine installations are conducted safely and efficiently.

- Lead the alignment and calibration of turbine components, ensuring that turbines are accurately installed and function as per design specifications.
- Use advanced tools and techniques (e.g., laser alignment) to ensure proper turbine and motor alignment, minimizing system stress and maximizing performance.
- Perform system performance validation and coordinate the commissioning of turbines to ensure systems meet operational, safety, and efficiency standards.

- Coordinate rigging activities with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, ensuring that turbine installations are integrated smoothly into the larger project plan.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and alignment procedures, with experience using alignment tools (e.g., laser alignment systems).

Educational Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in rigging, mechanical systems, or turbine maintenance are preferred.
- Formal training in turbine rigging, mechanical systems, or industrial safety is highly beneficial.
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in turbine rigging, mechanical systems installation, or a related field, with a proven track record in turbine installation projects.
- Extensive experience in managing turbine rigging projects, leading teams, and overseeing complex installations.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting turbine rigging and mechanical system issues.
Tools and Technologies:
- Proficiency in rigging tools and equipment (e.g., cranes, hoists, lifting slings, shackles).
- Familiarity with alignment tools (e.g., laser alignment systems, mechanical gauges).
- Experience with project management software or reporting tools for tracking progress and communicating project status.
- Knowledge of turbine-related equipment and instrumentation.
