Job Title: Turbine Controls Engineer 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Turbine Controls Engineer – Fresher to join our engineering team. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with limited work experience who are eager to build a career in turbine control systems. You will receive comprehensive training on control system design, programming, and troubleshooting, and work closely with experienced engineers to help ensure the optimal performance and safety of turbine operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Control System Design & Programming:

  • Assist in designing and developing control systems for turbine operations using industry-standard tools and programming languages.
  • Support the configuration and programming of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), and SCADA systems.
  • Learn to interpret engineering drawings, control schematics, and technical specifications for turbine controls.

Testing & Commissioning:

  • Help with testing and commissioning of turbine control systems to verify proper functionality and performance.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues during system start-up and routine operations.
  • Participate in control system calibrations and ensure that system parameters meet design requirements.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Assist in preparing technical documentation, including control system specifications, test procedures, and commissioning reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, modifications, and maintenance activities.
  • Document any issues encountered and work with the team to develop corrective actions.

Collaboration & Continuous Learning:

  • Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to support turbine control projects.
  • Engage in training programs and on-the-job learning to develop technical expertise in control systems and automation.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute to innovative control solutions.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Control System Development: Build foundational skills in designing and programming turbine control systems.
  • System Testing & Troubleshooting: Gain hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, and debugging control system issues.
  • Technical Documentation: Emphasize accurate record-keeping and effective communication of technical information.
  • Continuous Learning: Focus on acquiring new skills in automation, control theory, and system integration.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support overall turbine performance.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework or academic projects in control systems, automation, or turbine technology is advantageous.

Experience:

  • 0-1 years of prior professional experience is required; internships, academic projects, or lab experience in control systems are a plus.
  • Entry-level candidates with a strong interest in turbine controls and automation are encouraged to apply.

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming and control system principles.
  • Familiarity with software tools used in control system design and simulation (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar) is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute innovative ideas to control system projects.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Any relevant certifications in control systems or automation are a plus, though not required.
  • Basic safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid/CPR) are beneficial.
