We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Turbine Control Technician to lead the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of control systems for steam and gas turbines. This role demands expert-level proficiency in turbine automation, protection logic, and control systems including PLC, DCS, SCADA, and instrumentation. The successful candidate will serve as a technical authority, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with all operational, safety, and regulatory standards.
Lead diagnostics and root cause analysis for complex control system faults or turbine trips.
Oversee tuning and optimization of turbine control loops for performance, reliability, and safety.
Analyze system logs, alarms, and trends to identify opportunities for control system improvements.
Supervise or independently perform detailed calibrations and functional testing of sensors, transmitters, actuators, and control valves.
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of control hardware and software.
Manage software backups, firmware updates, and logic modifications for PLCs, DCS, and turbine management systems.
Provide technical leadership during turbine installations, upgrades, and major turnarounds.
Review and validate control logic, interlocks, and protection systems in collaboration with engineering and OEMs.
Support integration of control systems with plant-wide DCS and remote monitoring platforms.
Ensure all control system activities comply with industry standards (API, IEC, ISO) and safety regulations.
Maintain and update technical documentation including control narratives, loop drawings, calibration records, and change logs.
Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and safety integrity level assessments for turbine-related control systems.
Act as the go-to expert for turbine control issues across the site or fleet.
Train and mentor junior and mid-level technicians.
Participate in competency development programs and technical audits.

Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (Diploma with extensive experience may be considered).
7+ years of hands-on experience in turbine control systems in power generation, oil & gas, or heavy industrial settings.
Proven track record in handling OEM turbine systems (GE Mark VI/Vie, Siemens T3000, ABB, Emerson Ovation, etc.).
Experience in managing major turnarounds, commissioning, or control system upgrades.
Strong expertise in PLC/DCS programming, logic troubleshooting, and signal diagnostics.
Familiarity with safety instrumented systems (SIS), turbine protection systems, and HMI configuration.
Ability to interpret and create complex technical documentation and control logic.
Leadership and decision-making under pressure
