Job Title: Temperature Calibration Engineer

Job Summary:

The Mid-Level Temperature Calibration Engineer is responsible for independently performing and managing calibration, testing, and maintenance of temperature measurement devices such as thermocouples, RTDs, temperature transmitters, and controllers. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing calibration processes, and ensuring compliance with quality and industry standards. The Mid-Level Engineer contributes to the reliability and precision of temperature systems while supporting team development and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Calibration and Testing:

  • Conduct advanced calibration of temperature instruments, including thermocouples, RTDs, thermal sensors, and infrared thermometers.
  • Validate and verify the accuracy and performance of temperature controllers and transmitters against international standards.
  • Resolve calibration errors and implement corrective actions to address discrepancies.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed calibration records, including test data, reports, and calibration certificates.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and organizational quality management standards in documentation practices.
  • Provide feedback to improve calibration procedures and reporting templates.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and operational checks on calibration equipment such as dry-block calibrators and temperature baths.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues in temperature devices, working independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Support the integration of new tools or methods into calibration workflows.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all calibration activities align with relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO 17025, ISO 9001) and organizational protocols.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines during the handling and calibration of temperature instruments and systems.
  • Participate in audits and inspections, demonstrating compliance with regulatory requirements.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on calibration-related projects, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, sharing knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Lead training sessions to familiarize the team with advanced calibration techniques and tools.

Process Optimization:

  • Evaluate existing calibration workflows and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on emerging calibration technologies and implement best practices in operations.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Comprehensive understanding of temperature measurement principles and devices, including thermocouples, RTDs, and temperature controllers.
  • Proficiency in using advanced calibration tools such as dry-block calibrators, temperature baths, infrared calibrators, and data loggers.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues in temperature measurement systems.
  • Knowledge of quality and calibration standards such as ISO 17025 and their application in industrial calibration processes.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple calibration tasks and projects efficiently.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Certifications in temperature calibration or metrology (e.g., ISO 17025 training) are highly desirable.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Water Purification and Treatment Systems Control:

    Managing the calibration, testing, and optimization of temperature sensors and control systems within water treatment processes.
  • Ensuring precise temperature control to improve system performance and efficiency across purification and treatment workflows.
  • Environmental and Regulatory Compliance:

    Leading temperature calibration activities to meet stringent environmental and regulatory standards.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports and audits on calibration processes and ensuring systems adhere to compliance requirements.
  • Monitoring of Water Quality:

    Integrating temperature data with water quality monitoring systems to evaluate and optimize parameters like pH and chlorine levels.
  • Identifying and resolving temperature-related issues affecting water treatment quality and implementing process improvements.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in temperature calibration or related fields.
  • Proven ability to manage independent calibration tasks and troubleshoot complex systems.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Dry-block calibrators, temperature baths, infrared thermometers, digital thermometers, and calibration management software.
