Job Title: Temperature Calibration Engineer

Job Summary:

The Temperature Calibration Engineer (Fresher) is responsible for assisting in the calibration, testing, and maintenance of temperature measurement devices such as thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), temperature controllers, and thermal sensors. This entry-level role focuses on developing foundational skills and understanding temperature calibration techniques under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

Calibration and Testing:

  • Assist in the calibration of temperature devices to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Support in testing thermocouples, RTDs, and temperature sensors using standard calibration tools like dry-block calibrators and temperature baths.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for calibration activities, ensuring consistency and precision.

Documentation:

  • Record calibration results, test data, and observations accurately for compliance with quality standards.
  • Assist in generating calibration certificates and reports as per organizational requirements.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Support routine maintenance of calibration equipment such as temperature baths, infrared calibrators, and thermometers.
  • Identify and report any issues or abnormalities in calibration equipment or devices.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and organizational guidelines during calibration and testing activities.
  • Learn and apply industry standards such as ISO 17025 and other calibration-specific regulations.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with senior engineers and technicians to execute calibration and testing tasks effectively.
  • Participate in team discussions to understand project goals and contribute to operational efficiency.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Basic understanding of temperature measurement principles and devices, including thermocouples, RTDs, and infrared thermometers.
  • Familiarity with calibration tools such as dry-block calibrators, temperature baths, and digital thermometers is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in recording and executing calibration tasks.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to identify common issues in temperature devices and instruments.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Basic training or certification in temperature calibration or metrology is a plus but not mandatory.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Water Purification and Treatment Systems Control:

    Assisting in the calibration and testing of temperature sensors and systems used in water purification and treatment processes.
  • Supporting the maintenance of temperature control equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Environmental and Regulatory Compliance:

    Assisting in ensuring that temperature measurement systems align with environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Documenting calibration activities and compliance-related data for audits and inspections.
  • Monitoring of Water Quality:

    Supporting the integration of temperature data with water quality monitoring systems to assess parameters such as pH and chlorine levels.
  • Helping in the validation of temperature-dependent processes to ensure water quality and safety.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required; internships or academic projects related to temperature measurement or calibration are beneficial.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Basic calibration tools such as temperature baths, dry-block calibrators, infrared calibrators, and thermometers.
  • Knowledge of basic data logging software or calibration management systems is a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to work collaboratively with supervisors and peers.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in temperature calibration techniques and methodologies.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to organizational standards.
