Job Title: Mid-Level – Systems Engineer

Job Summary

A Mid-Level Systems Engineer is responsible for deploying and optimizing IT infrastructure, ensuring security compliance, and integrating cloud-based solutions. This role involves automating system operations and providing technical expertise for system upgrades and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both Windows and Linux environments, with a focus on enhancing system performance and security across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and optimize enterprise IT infrastructure solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Automate system maintenance tasks using scripting tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Strengthen network security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Implement high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system performance issues, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Support cloud-based infrastructure and hybrid IT environments, facilitating seamless integration and management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve IT efficiency and drive innovative solutions.

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux administration.
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Expertise in networking concepts including VLAN, VPN, and Firewalls.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills in languages like PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM.
  • Knowledge of database management and backup solutions.
  • Familiarity with IT security frameworks and compliance standards.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, RHCE, or CCNP preferred.

Key Focus Areas

  • Infrastructure automation and cloud adoption.
  • Security enhancements and compliance enforcement.
  • System performance optimization.

Experience

  • 3-6 years in IT infrastructure and systems engineering roles.

Tools and Equipment

  • Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
  • Security analytics platforms including Splunk, Nessus, and SIEM tools.
  • Enterprise monitoring and logging tools like Nagios, Zabbix, and ELK Stack.

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
