The Supplier Quality Engineer (Mid-Level) is responsible for managing and improving supplier quality performance related to valve products, ensuring full compliance with API, ISO, and ASME standards. This role leads supplier quality audits, drives corrective actions, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain high product integrity and support operational excellence.
Plan and conduct supplier audits and assessments focused on valve manufacturing processes and compliance with API 6D, ISO 9001, ASME, and customer specifications.
Review and approve supplier quality documentation including inspection reports, test certificates, and material traceability.
Lead investigations of supplier non-conformances, manage root cause analysis, and oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) implementation.
Ensure supplier adherence to applicable valve standards and internal quality policies.
Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics, scorecards, and performance reports.
Support contract review and supplier qualification processes related to valve components.
Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and operations to align on quality requirements and resolve supplier issues.
Drive supplier development programs to improve quality, delivery, and cost performance.
Mentor junior quality engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Analyze quality data trends and identify opportunities for process improvements and risk mitigation.
Lead or participate in quality improvement projects related to valve manufacturing and supplier management.
Present quality performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical field (Required)
3β7 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in valves, mechanical components, or related industries
Proven experience with industry standards such as API 6D, ISO 9001, and ASME
Strong knowledge of valve manufacturing processes and quality standards
Expertise in conducting supplier audits and managing CAPA processes
Excellent problem-solving, root cause analysis, and communication skills
Proficiency in quality management systems and software (e.g., SAP QM, IQS, Minitab)
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence supplier performance
