Job Title: Structural Fabricator / Fitter

Overview of the Role

The Structural Fabricator / Fitter is a senior-level position responsible for the fabrication and assembly of structural components for various construction and engineering projects. This role requires a deep understanding of structural design, materials, and fabrication techniques. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, as well as a strong background in welding and metalworking. The Structural Fabricator / Fitter will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure that all components meet the required specifications and quality standards, while also adhering to safety regulations and best practices in the industry.

• Responsibilities

  • Lead the measurement, cutting, and assembly of pipes and components to precise specifications.
  • Review and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications for project execution.
  • Operate advanced tools and equipment, including welding machines, grinders, and precision cutting tools.
  • Inspect materials for quality assurance and ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and training on fabrication techniques.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during fabrication processes to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure team compliance with PPE and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to plan and execute projects efficiently.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, material usage, and any challenges encountered.

  Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Matriculation (high school diploma or equivalent).
    • Technical diploma or certification in fabrication, welding, or related fields required.
  • Experience:
    • 3 to 5 years of experience in fabrication, welding, or a similar industrial role.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in operating and maintaining fabrication tools and equipment.
    • Advanced ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
