We are seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems for various infrastructure projects. In this role, you will be responsible for leading structural design tasks, performing advanced analysis, and ensuring that designs comply with safety standards, building codes, and client requirements. You will collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to develop efficient, cost-effective, and high-performance structural solutions. This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and development as you take on more complex design challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Structural Design:

    • Lead the design of structural systems and components for a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure.
    • Perform detailed structural calculations and develop design documentation for foundations, beams, columns, walls, and other load-bearing elements.
    • Use CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) to create detailed structural drawings and 3D models.
    • Ensure that all designs meet required building codes, safety regulations, and client specifications.
  2. Structural Analysis:

    • Conduct advanced structural analysis for a variety of building types and infrastructure, including analyzing forces, stresses, deflections, and load-bearing capacities.
    • Perform structural calculations for different materials (steel, concrete, timber, etc.) and optimize designs for performance and cost efficiency.
    • Utilize software tools such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or ETABS for structural analysis and simulation.
  3. Project Management and Coordination:

    • Manage small to medium-sized projects, ensuring that design deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with client expectations.
    • Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure the structural design is fully integrated with the overall project.
    • Monitor construction progress, perform site visits, and ensure that structural elements are being implemented correctly in accordance with design specifications.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including structural reports, design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
    • Provide clear communication of design concepts, assumptions, and final results to project managers, clients, and regulatory bodies.
    • Document and report any design modifications, issues, or challenges encountered during the design and construction phases.
  5. Site Visits and Inspections:

    • Conduct site visits to observe the progress of construction and ensure that structural work is proceeding according to the approved plans.
    • Perform inspections of existing structures to assess their condition, recommend repairs, and design reinforcement solutions where necessary.
    • Collaborate with construction teams to troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during the construction phase.
  6. Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing:

    • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in structural design, analysis, and problem-solving.
    • Lead design review sessions and provide constructive feedback to junior team members.
    • Share knowledge on new technologies, tools, and materials to encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
  7. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

    • Ensure all designs meet quality assurance standards and comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., AISC, Eurocode, or local codes).
    • Conduct peer reviews and quality checks on design work produced by junior engineers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
    • Stay up to date with changes in industry standards, codes, and best practices to ensure that the firm’s designs are always at the forefront of structural engineering.
