We are seeking a motivated Junior Structural Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will assist in the design, analysis, and evaluation of structural components and systems for various projects, including buildings, bridges, and infrastructure. As a Junior Structural Engineer, you will work under the guidance of senior engineers to develop your technical skills and gain hands-on experience with structural analysis, design software, and construction practices. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with some experience or recent graduates looking to build a career in structural engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Modeling:

    • Assist senior engineers in designing structural components such as beams, columns, foundations, and walls for various infrastructure projects.
    • Use CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) to assist in creating 2D and 3D models of structural designs.
    • Help prepare design drawings, layouts, and technical specifications based on project requirements.
  2. Structural Analysis:

    • Assist in performing structural calculations and analysis to ensure the stability, safety, and performance of designs.
    • Conduct basic assessments of load-bearing capacity, stress, strain, and material strength under the supervision of senior engineers.
    • Learn and apply engineering principles to analyze structures for safety, durability, and compliance with building codes.
  3. Construction Support and Site Visits:

    • Participate in site visits to assist in inspections, reviewing construction progress, and ensuring that structural components are being built according to design specifications.
    • Help monitor the quality of work and identify any issues that may arise during construction.
    • Support senior engineers with any required on-site evaluations or measurements.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Assist in preparing and organizing technical documentation, including structural reports, drawings, calculations, and analysis results.
    • Maintain accurate records of design revisions, inspection reports, and project progress.
    • Help prepare reports to present findings and provide updates to clients, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  5. Collaboration with Teams:

    • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other specialists to ensure the design integrates well with other systems (mechanical, electrical, etc.).
    • Participate in design review meetings and assist senior engineers in ensuring the structural designs are aligned with project goals.
    • Work closely with the construction team to ensure design feasibility and assist in problem-solving during construction.
  6. Learning and Development:

    • Participate in training sessions and mentorship from senior engineers to develop your technical skills in structural design and analysis.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, new materials, and design innovations.
    • Gradually take on more responsibility in design tasks and project management as your skills and experience grow.

Key Focus Areas:

Aerodynamics:
  • Assist in optimizing aerodynamic systems for aircraft or spacecraft performance using modeling software.
Propulsion Systems:
  • Contribute to the development and testing of propulsion systems, focusing on efficiency and reliability.
Structural Engineering:
  • Design and test structural components to ensure strength, durability, and safety.
Systems Integration:
  • Support integration of mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems to ensure seamless operation.
Stress and Fatigue Analysis:
  • Perform analysis on components to ensure they can withstand operational stresses and fatigue.
Quality Assurance & Control:
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards through inspections, testing protocols, and quality control procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
    • Fresh graduates or those with less than two years of professional experience are encouraged to apply.
  2. Technical Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of structural engineering principles, including statics, mechanics of materials, and concrete/steel design.
    • Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) for drafting and modeling structural components.
    • Basic understanding of structural analysis methods and tools.
    • Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations is a plus but not required.
  3. Soft Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design and calculations.
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with team members and presenting ideas.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new responsibilities.
  4. Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):
