The Mid-Level Structural Assembly Supervisor leads and coordinates the assembly and installation of structural steel components for clarifiers, tanks, platforms, and other infrastructure in water treatment facilities. This role involves supervising multi-disciplinary crews, ensuring compliance with structural codes, drawings, and safety standards, and managing day-to-day workflow to meet project timelines and quality requirements.
Supervise the structural assembly crews responsible for clarifier frames, storage tanks, platforms, walkways, and support steel.
Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure crews follow engineering drawings, weld maps, and project specifications.
Coordinate with welders, fitters, riggers, and inspectors to maintain efficient workflow and quality control.
Interpret and enforce compliance with structural codes and standards such as AISC, AWS welding codes, and project-specific requirements.
Oversee fit-up, welding, bolting, and alignment activities to ensure structural integrity and dimensional accuracy.
Participate in inspections, coordinate with QA/QC teams, and address any non-conformances or rework.
Lead implementation of safety protocols including PPE compliance, fall protection, rigging safety, and confined space awareness.
Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Ensure safe operation of tools, equipment, and lifting devices.
Manage daily and weekly production schedules in coordination with project managers and engineering teams.
Track progress, resource needs, and material availability; escalate issues as needed.
Maintain accurate work records, inspection reports, and safety documentation.

Education:
Technical diploma or associate degree in Structural Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred
Relevant trade certifications in welding, rigging, or fabrication highly desirable
Certifications (Preferred):
OSHA 30 or equivalent advanced safety certification
AWS Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS) or familiarity with welding standards
Rigging and fall protection certifications
Experience:
5+ years of experience in structural steel assembly or fabrication in water treatment or industrial environments
Minimum 2 years in supervisory or lead role managing structural crews on complex projects
Skills:
Strong ability to read and interpret structural drawings, weld maps, and project specifications
Proven leadership and crew management skills
Knowledge of structural codes (AISC, AWS) and safety regulations
Excellent communication and organizational skills
