We are looking for a technically skilled and proactive Mid-Level Structural Assembly Supervisor to manage and oversee structural assembly operations involving fabricated components. The role includes supervising a team of fitters, welders, and helpers, ensuring that assemblies meet quality and safety standards while supporting timely project execution. The ideal candidate should have strong technical understanding, proven coordination skills, and experience working on structural assemblies in fabrication or manufacturing environments.
Oversee the structural assembly process from sub-assembly to final assembly.
Allocate jobs and daily tasks to team members based on project priorities.
Ensure assembly activities align with engineering drawings, quality plans, and production schedules.
Interpret detailed structural drawings, welding symbols, and assembly tolerances.
Guide teams on correct fit-up procedures, bolt torquing, alignment, and inspection checkpoints.
Resolve technical issues on the floor related to assembly discrepancies or fitment problems.
Work closely with fabrication, machining, welding, and quality teams for smooth workflow.
Monitor job progress and escalate delays or material shortages to relevant departments.
Participate in review meetings and communicate job status to production planners.
Ensure assemblies are completed in accordance with design specs, tolerances, and quality standards.
Perform in-process checks and guide the team to maintain documentation and traceability.
Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections and final approvals.
Maintain disciplined workflow, cleanliness, and 5S practices.
Monitor tools, equipment, and material availability on the shop floor.
Enforce safety protocols, PPE usage, and incident reporting procedures.
Mentor junior team members and operators on best assembly practices.
Train workers in proper use of tools, lifting techniques, and interpretation of assembly drawings.
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Fabrication / Structural Engineering or related field.
4–6 years of hands-on experience in structural or mechanical assembly, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong working knowledge of structural drawings, GD&T, and welding standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
Familiarity with heavy fabrication processes and assembly of structural frames, platforms, or equipment housings.
Good understanding of workplace safety, inspection procedures, and lean shop floor practices.
Experience in leading cross-functional assembly teams and managing project timelines.
