The Mid-Level Skid System Supervisor oversees the mechanical and piping assembly of modular, skid-mounted water treatment systems, ensuring projects are built to design specifications and industry standards (AWWA, ASME, ANSI). This role involves direct supervision of assembly crews, coordination with engineering and QA/QC, and management of daily build schedules. Ideal candidates bring technical expertise and hands-on leadership experience in mechanical fabrication or modular system integration.
Manage day-to-day skid system assembly, including structural framing, mechanical piping, valve installation, and equipment mounting.
Interpret and execute fabrication drawings, GA layouts, P&IDs, and piping isometrics.
Coordinate work between pipefitters, welders, electricians, and instrumentation technicians.
Ensure all assemblies meet mechanical tolerances, code compliance (ASME B31.3, AWWA C200/C606), and client specifications.
Oversee torqueing, pipe support installation, alignment, and hydrostatic testing activities.
Collaborate with QA/QC on hold points, punch lists, and final inspections.
Develop and manage daily and weekly work plans to align with fabrication schedules.
Identify material shortages, fabrication issues, and scheduling conflicts early and resolve proactively.
Interface with engineering and project managers to clarify technical details or field modifications.
Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with PPE, LOTO, confined space, and hot work procedures.
Lead toolbox talks, perform job hazard analyses, and report incidents or near-misses.
Train and mentor junior team members and helpers in skid assembly techniques and standards.
