The Junior Skid System Supervisor supports the assembly and integration of modular skid-mounted water treatment systems, including mechanical, piping, and basic instrumentation components. This entry-level supervisory role is ideal for individuals with fabrication or assembly experience who are transitioning into leadership. The position emphasizes learning how to manage small teams, track quality, and ensure adherence to safety and design specifications in modular water system builds.
Assist in supervising the mechanical assembly and piping installation of packaged skid systems used in water treatment applications.
Coordinate the layout, mounting, and connection of tanks, pumps, valves, filters, and instruments on fabricated frames.
Ensure alignment with assembly drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs.
Help track daily progress and communicate status updates to senior supervisors or project leads.
Ensure availability of materials, tools, and parts needed for assigned skids.
Work with QA/QC teams for preliminary checks and final visual inspections.
Support adherence to applicable standards (e.g., AWWA, ASME B31.3, ANSI for flanges/valves).
Monitor fit-up, fastener torqueing, bracket welding, and equipment mounting practices.
Report non-conformances and assist with basic rework coordination.
Promote and follow safety standards including PPE use, LOTO, confined space (if applicable), and hot work protocols.
Participate in toolbox talks and job hazard assessments.
Relay instructions clearly to crew members and communicate issues promptly to senior staff.

Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Technical certification or trade school in mechanical systems, welding, or assembly preferred
Certifications (Preferred):
OSHA 10
Basic knowledge of AWWA/ASME mechanical standards a plus
Experience:
2–4 years of experience in mechanical assembly, pipefitting, or water treatment system fabrication
Previous lead or crew coordination experience preferred but not required
Skills:
Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and general arrangement (GA) diagrams
Basic understanding of pipe routing, mechanical fastening, and component alignment
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Eagerness to learn supervisory responsibilities and technical standards
