Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Junior Shuttering Helper supports shuttering carpenters in assembling and dismantling formwork used for casting concrete structures. This entry-level role includes preparing materials, cleaning work areas, and assisting in handling tools and panels under supervision.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist shuttering carpenters in the erection and removal of formwork for columns, beams, slabs, and foundations.

  • Transport and organize materials such as timber, plywood, steel panels, and form ties.

  • Clean and prepare formwork panels for reuse.

  • Hold, align, and secure formwork components during installation.

  • Support in marking levels and aligning shuttering per carpenters’ instructions.

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.

  • Follow all site safety rules and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Report damaged tools or unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.


Requirements:

  • Basic education; high school or vocational training preferred.

  • Physically fit and capable of manual labor for long durations.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively in a team.

  • Willingness to work in outdoor construction environments and varying weather.

  • No prior experience required, but construction site exposure is an advantage.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials.

  • Safety training certification (if available).
