The Shutdown and Turnaround I&C Supervisor (Mid-Level) is responsible for coordinating and supervising all instrumentation and control activities during scheduled shutdowns and turnarounds. This includes overseeing inspection, testing, calibration, and reinstatement of critical control systems to ensure plant reliability, safety compliance, and timely completion of I&C scopes within planned outages.
Lead and coordinate I&C technicians and subcontractors during shutdown and turnaround activities.
Supervise disassembly, testing, calibration, and reinstallation of control instruments such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, control valves, and safety interlocks.
Ensure all loop checks, functional tests, and control system verifications are completed as per shutdown procedures.
Review and implement shutdown plans and work packages for I&C scope, including manpower, tools, and materials planning.
Monitor work execution against shutdown schedules and escalate delays or technical issues promptly.
Enforce safety protocols, isolation procedures, and compliance with permit-to-work systems.
Maintain accurate documentation, including test sheets, calibration reports, and as-built data.
Liaise with QA/QC and operations teams for inspection approvals and system handover.
Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of instrument or control failures during shutdown.
Participate in daily progress meetings, reporting work status and challenges to the Turnaround Manager.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering
4–7 years of experience in I&C maintenance, with proven involvement in at least 2 major shutdowns or turnarounds
Strong technical background in control systems, loop checking, and instrumentation testing
Experience working with PLC/DCS systems, SIS, and process automation platforms
Familiarity with standards such as ISA, IEC, API, and applicable HSE practices
Solid supervision and task delegation skills in high-pressure environments
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability in field instrumentation
Effective coordination across multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, operations)
Proficient in reading P&IDs, loop diagrams, and shutdown execution plans
Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills
Commitment to safety, quality, and on-time delivery of I&C scopes
