We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Shutdown/Turnaround Supervisor – Boilers to assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of boiler-related activities during plant shutdowns, turnarounds, or scheduled outages. This role is ideal for candidates with some experience in mechanical or boiler maintenance who are looking to build supervisory capabilities in high-paced, project-based environments. The role supports senior engineers and shutdown planners to ensure timely, safe, and effective maintenance of steam generation equipment.
Assist in reviewing boiler maintenance and inspection scopes as part of the overall turnaround plan.
Help coordinate preparatory activities such as equipment isolation, permit arrangements, and manpower mobilization.
Participate in pre-shutdown meetings and risk assessments under senior guidance.
Supervise small teams of technicians and contractors performing activities such as boiler cleaning, tube inspection, welding, refractory repair, and valve overhauls.
Monitor execution of assigned boiler maintenance tasks to ensure they are completed within planned timelines and safety standards.
Ensure proper use of tools, scaffolding, and lifting equipment during shutdown operations.
Ensure strict adherence to site safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and confined space entry during boiler work.
Conduct regular safety checks at work fronts and escalate issues to senior supervisors.
Support incident reporting and participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Help track work progress, resource utilization, and material consumption for assigned boiler jobs.
Assist in preparing job completion records, punch lists, and handover documentation.
Support documentation for post-shutdown evaluations and lessons learned.
Assist in managing boiler maintenance activities during shutdowns
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and standards
Coordinate with technicians and contractors for task execution
Track progress, material use, and reporting for boiler-related work
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, or related technical discipline
Boiler Attendant Certificate (preferred or willing to pursue)
Basic safety certifications (e.g., confined space, LOTO) are an advantage
1–3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably involving steam boilers or plant turnarounds
Exposure to industrial shutdowns or major maintenance projects is desirable
Familiarity with boiler components, cleaning methods, and inspection practices
Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and job scopes
Understanding of industrial safety standards and work permit systems
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks during high-demand periods
Team player with good communication and reporting skills
