The Junior Shipping and Packaging Specialist supports the preparation, crating, and preservation of gas and steam turbines and associated components for domestic and international shipments. This role ensures compliance with packaging standards, export regulations, and preservation requirements to protect high-value rotating equipment during transport and storage.
Assist in the design and execution of export crating solutions for turbine components, including skids, rotors, housings, and auxiliaries.
Support packaging of equipment using VCI films, desiccants, shrink wrap, and corrosion-inhibiting coatings as per project or OEM specs.
Apply and document preservation methods for short-term and long-term storage of mechanical components.
Conduct visual inspections and support tagging/labeling of preserved equipment before shipment.
Assist in preparing packing lists, preservation logs, and crate identification labels.
Ensure packaging complies with international export standards (e.g., ISPM-15, ASTM, MIL-STD) and customer specifications.
Work under the guidance of senior specialists to coordinate packaging timelines with shipping schedules and logistics teams.
Assist in loading operations, verifying correct orientation, protection, and securing of equipment.
Follow safety protocols during handling of heavy and sensitive turbine components.
Support quality inspections of crates and packaging prior to dispatch.
Export crating and protective packaging of turbine and rotating equipment

Documentation of packing and compliance with export and storage standards
Coordination with logistics, warehouse, and shipping teams
Education: High school diploma or technical certificate; associate degree or diploma in mechanical/logistics field preferred
Experience: 0–2 years in industrial packaging, logistics, or warehouse operations; experience with turbine or heavy equipment handling a plus
Skills:
Basic understanding of crating and preservation materials (e.g., VCI, shrink wrap, desiccants)
Familiarity with packing documentation, labeling, and export markings
Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed work instructions
Physically able to handle packaging tools and work in a warehouse or yard environment
